Prepare art for the size people will actually see
Start with one clear focal point. On a poker chip, that is usually a logo or denomination. Keep ring text short, use strong contrast, and avoid making every empty space carry information.

Read the proof like a player
Before sign-off, look at the proof as though it were across the felt, not enlarged on a laptop. Can a player identify the denomination quickly? Does the centre mark still feel balanced? Are two adjacent denominations easy to tell apart?
This is also the moment to check spelling, ring text, and colour contrast. A proof is not an administrative hurdle. It is the last cheap place to catch a detail that would otherwise be repeated hundreds of times.
